Solution: AI chatbot that educates Latvian youth on green topics, platform for students and industry talents to gather together, work on challenges and make real progress, real value with actionable steps and passionate all sides of the projects.

2ND PLACE: TARGALE UNITED

Problem: Logistics optimisation in ports
Solution: Automated trailer loading/unloading on ferries using hydrogen-powered robotic machines.

3RD PLACE: SAVE SOME

Problem: Smart energy consumption in ports. There is no data on energy consumption, or, if there is data, there is no action.
Solution: A standard that finally lets you act upon the data and analytics from energy consumption that comes from different IoT hardware integrations, NordPool, and more. Applying to Alternative Fuels Hackathon is like jumping into a whirlwind of learning and innovation! In just 48 hours, you’ll tackle real challenges in alternative fuel and sustainable mobility at ports. It’s a chance to make friends, get creative, and connect with industry professionals. Plus, your solutions could have a global impact! Not to mention, there are cool prizes and opportunities waiting for top ideas!

Absolutely not! We welcome participants of all backgrounds, whether you’re a seasoned hackathon pro or a first-timer – just bring your enthusiasm and innovative spirit.

No, we will hold team-building exercises to help you find a team to work with.

Yes, Alternative Fuels Hackathon is accepting participants on-site at Ventspils University of Applied Sciences and ONLINE as well, so everyone is welcome!

On-site participants should bring a laptop, a sleeping bag, a mattress, a refillable water bottle, and anything else that will make the hackathon experience more comfortable!

Yes, meals and snacks will be provided.

During the hackathon, expect more than just “hacking”! Engage in on-site networking with peers and take part in energizing activities for creativity and productivity boosts. Get ready for a well-rounded, memorable experience!

The team size can vary from 1 to 5 people.
